Everyone has a different opinion about everything in this world. Similarly while watching movies different individuals have different opinions about the movie. Some might love the movie or hate it or find it okay at the best.

But some movies have split opinions about a movie right down the middle. One half the audiences either loved it while the other half absolutely detested it. In this article we have listed 13 such movies that people either loved or absolutely hated. There’s no in-between opinion about these movies.

Avatar

Avatar is a science fiction movie that was released in 2009 based on James Cameron’s fictional world of Pandora that inhabitants of Earth want to colonize. The movie was produced and distributed by Lightstorm Entertainment and 2oth Century Fox.

The movie garnered huge attention from the masses that led to the movie becoming the highest-grossing film of all time until 2019 when Avengers: Endgame released.

This might lead you to think that most people loved the movie as it earned so much money at box office. In truth many people find the movie too long and uninteresting and wouldn’t watch it a second time.

The Big Lebowski

The Big Lebowski is a crime comedy movie directed by Ethan and Joel Coen and released in 1998.

The movie’s plot is about an avid bowler, Jeffrey Lebowski who gets mistaken as a millionaire with the same name and gets assaulted. This led to a series of incidents related to the assault intended for the millionaire.

The movie stars Philip Seymour Hoffman and Jeff Bridges that automatically gains an audience due to their popularity. But most people feel the movie is boring and not understandable.

Most MCU Movies

Most MCU movies tend to earn huge box office collections upon its release and attract lots of audiences to the theaters. The movies are filled with star cast and action-packed scenes with a strong plot line.

What’s not to love especially MCU fans who wait for the next movie to drop in the theaters so that they can religiously watch them. At the same time, other audiences feel that these movies are not real films and ruin filmmaking. Mostly these people favor DC movies or Martin Scorsese movies.

Taxi Driver

Martin Scorsese 1976 movie Taxi Driver got loads of praise from critics and earned many award nominations including four from Academy Award. This movie till this date is considered as a classic movie but other half of the audience feel otherwise.

People find the movie uncomfortable to watch while some find it too creepy and others just don’t get it.

Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood

Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood is a comedy-drama movie of  2019. The movie is written and directed by Quentin Tarantino starring popular Hollywood actors including Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie, and Al Pachino.

Audiences who have watched the movie seem to have two very extreme opinions about the movie. Some say it’s the best movie ever made by Tarantino while others swear it’s the worst.

Everything Everywhere All At Once

Everything Everywhere All At Once is another movie that seems to have two extremes of opinion where people either loved the film or hated it.

Critics have loved the movie so did the Academy but that does not impress the audiences who wouldn’t watch the film again. They simply do not understand the movie and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Uncut Gems

Uncut Gems is a movie that offers its audiences a stressful viewing experience so it’s understandable why people would either love it or hate it. Some people go to the movie to unwind and relax so uncomfortable movie viewing experiences are not what they are looking for.

While others who can handle these kinds of movies loved it.

Synecdoche, New York

Synecdoche, New York is loved by Philip Seymour Hoffman fans but others find it hard to understand. Personally, after watching the movie I could not decide if I loved it or hated it. Although the movie was interesting to watch, some parts I could not understand.

Zack Snyder’s DC Movies

Fans of Zack Snyders’s movies like Suicide Squad, Batman Vs Superman, Justice League, etc. loved DC movies while others find his movies awful. Some people tend to love Marvel’s filmmaking of superheroes while others prefer Zack Snyder’s movies.

The Tree Of Life

The Tree of Life directed by Terrence Malick has differences of opinions among audiences. Some loved Malick’s cinematography which were breathtaking while others were put off by his style. Some people could not understand the movie while others were amazed by the movie.

The Wolf Of Wall Street

The Wolf Of Wall Street directed by Martin Scorsese attracted a lot of people to the theaters in 2013 that earned the movie 409 million dollars in revenue. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie the movie was watched by millions across the globe.

While some loved the movie, others found it simply crude. The acting in the movie was top notch along with filmmaking hence why people loved it including me. People who did not like the movie seem to comment mostly on the vulgarities and explicit scenes from the movie.

The Lobster

The Lobster is a strange movie which audiences either loved or simply didn’t understand. I fall in the latter category who did not understand what the movie was.

On the other hand when I read the reviews of the movie before watching it some reviews called it a masterpiece. I guess I’m too thick to understand this masterpiece.

Asteroid City

Wes Anderson movies simply choose style over substance that people seem to either love or hate. There’s no in-between in this regard especially his movie Asteroid City which has no substance at all.
